Could you do it? I have no choice but to. Moving Saturday so I am turning in the cable boxes and router tomorrow. Comcast cannot come to the new house until Thursday. I’ll have my phone, but other than that, I am off the grid!

I did it while I was on vacation in Aruba and man it was great. I didn’t give two craps about what my “friends” were doing since I was with my group of friends in Aruba.

Unlimited data so I’d be good with just my phone.

I would welcome it… Most of my vacations are spent camping/rafting/hiking just so I can get away from it.

Done that twice when I was in University. Me and my buddies started drinking Friday after class, hungover almost the whole of Saturday, started drinking again Saturday night, bad hangover most of Sunday. Didnt even have time to check my phone or watch TV. Good 'ol days, I guess.
EDIT: Oh, a week? My example was just the weekend.

I just heard on the radio earlier this week that in a survey 20% would rather give up sex than the internet

Nope, I’d be spending my days at the local coffee shop surrounded by hipsters and caffeine addicts to mooch their wifi.

Have been without internet at home for almost 2 years now along with my laptop dying a year and a half ago. It really isn’t bad at all since I can do everything on my phone for the most part if I choose to. Living a life away from the internet at home has made life far more enjoyable.

For the past few days there wasn’t any.
Several things happened. First off there was a line problem to the house, an ancient modem that got replaced with a bad one out of the box that got replaced and then the netgear router failed too. I don’t remember how old it was.
I was pretty much OK. The SO wasn’t.
The netgear 6700 router works well but there are some quirks. Phones have to be restarted every so often for them to communicate and the CPI monitoring suite has a communication problem so I will get to spend some quality time with them.
The frustrating thing is that I can’t login to the router control page, I get a connection refused all of a sudden from any PC. The genie application partly works. It sees the devices but stalls on logging in too.
The PCs have a solid connection though. I guess set it back to default and try again…
While it sounds like it would make things difficult at first glance, after thinking for two seconds about it I could easily live without it. Frankly, my life would probably improve (much as I’m ashamed to say so).

I’m always fine when we lose power. I have my handhelds like 3DS, PS Vita, phone to keep me occupied. Also I have my instruments to play to pass the time.
My wife on the other hand needs the internet otherwise she becomes bored. If she becomes bored then she starts wanting to go places and shop to cure her boredom.
So in other words; I need the internet for the safety of my finances.

Enjoy it, it’s great.
It takes a while to unwind, which we all really should do.
After the first few days, it was great. I miss those days- makes me wonder if I need to disconnect again for a while.
Enjoy the time!

Pf, they chose poorly! Probably weren’t getting it anyway or else they wouldn’t have chosen the internet maybe.

It would be a blessing in disguise to have no internet for a week.
