Just wondering if any of you have experience with it and would care to share your thoughts.

My church needs one computer backed up, and we have “unlimited” space on our webhost, so I’m looking for something that will create a full system image, and also do regular / incremental backups, all to FTP.

Handybackup seems to fill the bill, so I emailed their sales team. We spoke back and forth a few times and I finally decided to purchase the std version plus the hdd imaging addon. Completed the paypal transaction 6 hours ago and haven’t heard a word since. No links, no registration key, no reply to my emails asking for those things. Yikes…

Used them a few years ago, but i must admit i never liked the product

it was one of the first things i replaced when i started here

Yikes…Not hearing anything after PayPal is sent is usually a bad sign…Let us know how it goes…

I’ve used them before and helped a friend get it setup for their small medical practice. They’ve been happy and have had no problems, including the purchase and licensing. I would try reaching out to them again. I found them to be reputable and helpful.

@All: One more email to them and I finally ended up with a license key, about 12 hours total after purchase. No explaination from them for the delay. Strange.

The program does what it says, and it took me all of 5 minutes after the install to setup and run my first full backup to my ISP via FTP.

And then, about 24 hours later, I got an email from my ISP saying that “content unrelated to the website” violates their terms of service, and I need to remove it.

sigh Guess I should have read the EULA. Or I shouldn’t have named that ftp folder “Backups - incremental”! :slight_smile:

So, it’s back to the drawing board. On a $200 budget, building a 3Tb box with multiple drives (RAID) is pretty much out of the question, so I just bought an external 3Tb drive that I found on sale this weekend for $99 and will probably plug it into my server @ home, then shoot backups to it via FTP. That at least gets backups offsite (and keeps people from seeing 3Tb of new space and putting “stuff” on it!), but of course there’s no redundancy, and if that drive goes south…sigh, again. :slight_smile:
