I’m testing the remote collector in one of my clinics in another state. I am able to link the remote site with my Spiceworks server just fine and able to receive the information of the machine the collector was installed on. When I do a network scan on the remote site, I can’t get any other computers to come up. Users sign in locally to their computers, we don’t have an AD server. How can I go about running a scan so all the computers in this clinic will be picked up by the Spiceworks network scanner.

You scheduled the scans on the RC site, not your base site, right?

Are you getting any scan errors?

Benhar honestly, give us a fighting chance.

I’m just as bored as u r.

the two machines (server and collector) are connecting to each other. I installed the collector on the remote site. the scanner reads the names of the machines and stops at 2% or 3%. Since the users log in remotely could it be that it doesn’t have the right credentials. I have a master user and password for all machines so I can log in. I know not the best practice but, it’s all I have right now.

Did you follow this when you set it up? (it was linked at the bottom of the other help doc I posted) http://community.spiceworks.com/how_to/show/283

If you are using an account with enough permissions then you should be fine to get the info. Look at this http://community.spiceworks.com/help/Troubleshooting_WMI as well as the other help on Inventory and credentials.
