Hi. I set up a Windows 10 VM on my Synology and use Team Viewer to access it from work.

I am now getting ‘Commercial Use Suspected’ warnings.

Is Team Viewer free version not allowed to be used outside of your home network without a license? It seems a bit heavy handed.

It is, AFAIK, you can email or call them and have them reset it.

Just don’t ‘overuse’ it as it is for home use, not commercial use.

Completely free for personal use*

*Personal use is limited to computers and devices that are not being used for business or other commercial tasks.

^ So depending what you do, (especially working in IT and remoting home and such) it could be marked as ‘commercial use’.

Also note that Teamviewer finds also what type of network your device has if it is public, private or domain too. But commercial use needs to be used with a license.

I’ve just switched to RealVNC. It’s working just as well, and took about as much time to set up.

It’s nice not having that nag screen any longer.

Glad is working for you!
