I am trying to find a good comprehensive online training resource for the COMPTIA Security+ exam. I mean from ground up. Does anyone know of something like that?

Look for several different programs. I’ve taken one from Udemy and am working through one from ITPro.TV , I’ve found that each has a slightly different level of explanation on the material.
Professor Messer by far. Used his stuff for A+, Network+ and Security+
He’s a great teacher and has a free and a paid version of his coursework online, does live sessions and has all of his videos on his YouTube channel for free.
HIGHLY recommend this as part of your routine.

I used Darril’s content (book) and then looked over exam objectives, anything I couldn’t explain perfectly I then checked out professor messers video on that topic.

Professor Messer +1. Nothing beats free and he even has example questions and monthly study groups.
Messer is great – another vote in support of him.
If you’ve got a few spare bucks and cash to burn, TestOut makes some ok courses as well.
I am in college right now with WGU, and the course mentor there recommended a few sites for me to look at for videos since I’m not a very big reader. He gave me two sites to look at lynda.com for Mike Myers videos, and Professor Messer. Take a look at those sites. I know for lynda.com you will have to pay for some of the videos, but there are more videos there to look at besides Mike Myers. Good luck!

You can get Mike Myers courses on Udemy for really cheap. They are the same courses he sells on his site for much more.

I passed the test SY0-501 (Security+) two weeks ago.
Unfortunately I didn’t find any good online resources at a fair price (training), but I can suggest you the book I used:
This is a good point to start and cover all of the objectives, then you need to train yourself with Dump Exams (that I found very matching with the exam on PassLeader.com ).
This is what I did to pass the exam, and I found all of these things useful.

I second Professor Messer. Videos are also available on YouTube for free. Great quality videos cut into short clips that don’t drag out.

as others have said, professer messer is free, and a really good source.
I also used cbtnuggets before I took my test, I really liked the practice exams they have, pluralsight has the exams also, but both require a subscription.
