It’s part of life, but yeah I’m guilty from many of my former jobs.

I’m lucky enough to say that I haven’t. I have been “laid off” in a sense; I worked at a Supermarket as my first job, went to college 2 hours away so I only worked winter/summer breaks, and the company went under, so I wasn’t eligible for unemployment since I didn’t finish out my time there, and I wasn’t exactly eligible for re-location (or want re-location).
It ended up working out in the end, but I have never been terminated from a position. Knock on wood

Yes.
The biggest problem for me was trying to tell future employers why I left that job.
The answer of “they sacked me, but they got it wrong” would never wash.

Not unfairly, but I worked for a company that got bought by one of the major UK banks. All the our IT staff got made redundant and the IT services taken in by the bank.
How I enjoyed hearing from former colleagues stories of how nothing worked any more and requests took months to process.
Was slightly less pleased when my tax money was used to bail out that bank 3 years later after it all came crashing down

Yes,
Couple of times.
Not a fun feeling, but after the shock wears off and you realize there was nothing else you could have done…

Yes.
@16 working in kitchens, watched the manager editing my login/log out times on the new “improved digital system” - I went freekin mental. He took over 2k in a year, to a 16 YRO in London, thats a lot. Confonted him with a .3gp video. Was escorted out instantly. Didn’t have the thought to take it to the police. Money grabbing 455****.
@19 Company wide redundancies, me and one other polling for one position. He lied to keep his job (other engineers/managers/the interviewer told me so), I was brutally honest. Learnt a harsh lesson that year. Lost my job as a result.

Several times.
My favorite was offering a female co-worker safe crash space because she was being stalked by her ex turned into a sexual harassment claim. I am now reminded twice to stop being a generous, good hearted person. Sigh.

I have never been wrongfully discharged.
Rightfully once in my life, but my health was pretty messed up at the time.

No, thank god. I can just imagine what it would do to my career. How do you explain it in job interviews where the employer is going to take the previous employer’s side by default?
Although I did have a job at a liquor store that would have led to that if I didn’t quit when I did. The manager (not owner) frequently stole from the store and blamed it on the employees.

I was falsely written up 3 times for the same “customer complaint”, subsequently fired due to it. This happened within a 2 day time span. The company closed shop less than 6 months later. This happened to 9 other employees, at least. Best I can figure is that they wanted to avoid paying us unemployment since they were closing.

Yes when i was working for Burger King (i was in high school). I had submitted 3 different vaction request for the same 2 week period. the first was to cover both weeks. but that wasn’t good enough. so i wrote 2 separate ones for each week. So the weeks come and go. i get back from vacation and show up to see the schedule. well the manager is there with my final check and tells me i was fired for no call no show. I point to the 3 sheets of paper on his board saying that I had requested the time off and that he had signed off on them. He didn’t care (even though it was entirely his fault) and canned me anyways. I went down the street to McDonald’s and got a new job that same day.
for the TLDR: Requested vaca, manager signed off, got sacked when returning from vaca, got new job same day. all managers fault and i had no choice but to go with my family for vaca.

Never happened to me, but a few years back, management made the stupid decision of cleaning house. They fired half are team leaders on the floor, people who have been their for years. Well a couple months later we get a huge contract, people end up working 60 hour weeks for months and stuff hits the proverbial fan because hardly anyone with experience is leading anymore and it was just a big cluster ^$&%.
