I have tried to run the steps given in the forum to resolve the scan issues however I am still not able to get it work for me.

I really want to resolve these and make the inventory look perfect without any errors.

I have attached a screenshot of the errors I am getting.

I would start by setting a domain Group policy to allow WMI-IN through the windows firewall. This will alleviate 90% of scan errors as spiceworks mainly uses WMI to scan windows computers.

Also look at this link for resolving unknowns. http://community.spiceworks.com/help/Resolving_Unknown_Devices

And make sure in your network scan settings that you defined a domain admin account username/password for all of your ranges.

It looks like you need to authenticate with a windows admin account. We use a domain admin account for ours.

Try editing your scan account settings for an admin account.

Thanks for the prompt response !

We have firewall turned off for all our workstations and we have tried couple of admin accounts on our nwteork range.

The strange thing is a particular admin account passes on one range but fails on the other.

Any idea???

Is this a newly created admin account?

No. and I have tried other admin accounts too.

Is there any difference in GPO’s applied to one range over the other working range?
