I’m trying to install the latest version of the agent (lnx64_cnt.run) on a Debian 9 and encounter the following problems:

Verifying archive integrity … All good.
Uncompressing Unitrends Linux Agent …

./install.sh: 1: ./install.sh: objdump: not found
./install.sh: 1: ./install.sh: objdump: not found
You must install the 64-bit version of libssl.so.6 (openssl)
./install.sh: 1: ./install.sh: objdump: not found
./install.sh: 1: ./install.sh: objdump: not found
You must install the 64-bit version of libcrypto.so.6 (openssl)

Dependencies for Unitrends Agent must be installed before proceeding with installation.

I tried everything, looked at the documentation and searched the internet but nothing to solve this case.

Help me please.

Try installing it using “dpkg -i packagename”

I’m sorry that you’re having these issues. Can you tell me a bit more about your environment?

  • What edition of Unitrends do you have (free, standard, enterprise, etc)?
  • What version of the Unitrends software are you running?
  • What agent version are you trying to use?
  • What version of Debian are you using (9.3? 32 bit?)?

Once we know these details, we should have some next steps for you.

Yes, Katie. Happy for that support.

Edition: Unitrends Free

Software: 10.2.0-1.201806180102.CentOS6

Agent: Debian 10.1

SO Debian : 9.4 64 bit

@katie

Chmod0777,

It is not a .deb file.

I appreciate your attention.

Thanks for these details. Our free edition can only be used to protect VMware, Hyper-V, & Windows clients. That means that unless this client is running on VMware or Hyper-V as a VM, you will not be able to protect this client using our free edition. Please let me know what questions you may have.

Katie, I’m using Unitrends Free on a VMware ESXI, and the client is also a VM machine.
That is, I am following the documentation correctly.
I need only install the agent on my client so the appliance protects it.

Only I can not install because it accuses this problem:

root @ test: ~ # ./lnx64_cnt.run

Verifying archive integrity … All good.
Uncompressing Unitrends Linux Agent …

./install.sh: 1: ./install.sh: objdump: not found
./install.sh: 1: ./install.sh: objdump: not found
You must install the 64-bit version of libssl.so.6 (openssl)

./install.sh: 1: ./install.sh: objdump: not found
./install.sh: 1: ./install.sh: objdump: not found
You must install the 64-bit version of libcrypto.so.6 (openssl)

Dependencies for Unitrends Agent must be installed before proceeding with installation.

I can not install the agent you make available and it should work, understand?

Chmod077,

I have already visualized all the documentation and I could not solve my problem.
My machines are Debian, Unitrends provides the executable lnx64_cnt.run that I can not execute.
I already tried to install all the dependencies and nothing.

Take a look at this, it should apply to Debian -

If this KB doesn’t resolve your issues, then you’ll need to post in the Unitrends Support Community to work with one of our support engineers to resolve your issues.

It does not solve. I’ve followed every step of everything I’ve encountered and nothing.

That was my last solution.

Worst of all, I’ve already done three registrations in the suport community of Unitrends and I’ve never been able to login later (user and password incorrect). From the last record I made I also tried to post this question in the community and I got that I did not have permission.

I’m without help, could you post me there then and give me the link to follow?

I do not know what else to do.

Again, I’m sorry that you’re having these issues, but the only way for Unitrends Free users to work with an engineer is via our Support Forums. Did you follow the steps outlined in this article to create your login?

Yes I followed the steps in the article.

The problem is that I can not log in

I thought it was the password, but it always happens when I register. I do not get email to retrieve it too.

I totally do not know what to do. Help me please.

The problem is below:

You must install the 64-bit version of libcrypto.so.6 (openssl)

You need to install the Libssl-dev package

sudo apt-get install libssl-dev

Also is your Debian 64 bits?

Again, I’m sorry that you’re having these issues. Can you private message me the email address you think you registered with so that I can see what may be causing your login issue?

Dbeato,

I installed libssl-dev. I installed all available packages from it in my OS, including its 64bit version. My Debian is 64 too.

You still have the problem.

I appreciate your attention.

Katie,

I sent it, received it?
I’m sure it’s this email. That’s what it shows on my appliance too.I can post here if you want.

Thanks for sending that over. I had the team reset your account. You should be able to request a new password using that email address without issue.

I tried to register at the moment:

Your request cannot be processed at this time. The site administrator has been alerted.

What’s more, I’ve already made other accounts and I always have this problem to log in. So I do not know if redefining would change anything.

Could you post to me in the community? Making the link available
