…so tell your boss that the gov’t (ok well not really - whoever controls these national holidays) said it was a ok for you to head on home just a wee bit earlier than normal.

In all seriousness though - how often to you leave early and if you do - does it mean a late night at home catching up?

They actually just started our “summer hours” here, so I’m outta here at noon tomorrow. Won’t be leaving early today at all, but I’ll spend the whole day hoping nothing drastic happens.

Oh I love summer hours. I worked at a few companies that offered that perk and it was truly amazing. It’s a great feeling to walk out the door on Friday at noon and feel like you’ve got a jump start on the weekend. I’ll send positive vibes your way for a low key day today!

Leave early? People get to do this?

We have mandatory Saturday work hours and rotate them off during the summer between a group of 3 people.

I’m always on call as well.

The only time I leave early is if they are closing early here, I planned on it and am using vacation time, or I’m disgustingly sick.

Being a 4 day work week I’d have to probably pick a different week to celebrate.

Fortunately, I have the flexibility to where if I needed to leave early, I could resume work later at home or just come in early the next day and make the time up!

Yeah, it’s really easy for me to make the time up when I need to duck out a little early! I had a couple of doctors appointments this week that forced me to miss a couple hours, so will be here later today!

Why couldn’t this be tomorrow so we have some sort of excuse to start the weekend early? Of course, I’m already planning on doing that anyway. Some extra hours in earlier so I can take off a few hours earlier tomorrow.

Started a new job and come Friday, I noticed it was really quiet in the office. My coworker next to me said “Oh, by the way, we close at 4 on Fridays.”

I wasn’t sure if she was yanking my chain or not, I had to go ask my boss, and he confirmed it.
