Received a call from “Microsoft” again today. My phone showed it as coming from “LOS ANGELES CA” with the number (323) 663-3803.

I was ready this time after he started his spiel and opened the audio recording app ( Easy Voice Recorder Pro if anyone is interested) and hit record.

I started out by giving him a hard time with the run command, though for most of it, I really couldn’t understand what he wanted me to type. Here is Part 1: https://goo.gl/1znVNN

Also, the website he was trying to get me to was www_fff_re/89y2 and after frustration, he just told me to to www_supremocontrol_com, neither of which I went to obviously.

What an entertaining Monday morning. I have a few videos of the situation, my favorite part was right at the end when the guy said “go to hell”. What is this guy thinking?! He tries to maliciously access your computer then gets mad when you waste his time…

You gotta love these scams! I just hang up on them. Their ONLY saving grace is that they cause me extra business as an independent contractor. I tell my clients to just hang up on them, too.

I had one of these last year. Managed to waste over 20 minutes of his time by playing along to see what would happen, and baled out with some suitable language just as I was about to tell him the ID and password for the TeamViewer session. He was very plausible, and guided me into Event Viewer to see all the thousands of entries there, which showed that my machine had some serious problems (all perfectly normal log files, obviously). I can see how anyone who didn’t know anything about computers, especially an older person, would fall for it though. Personally I hope the fleas of a thousand camels infest his genitals and those of everyone like him.
