I am in the middle of re-installing Office 2010 on a win 7 machine, I’ve come to add the product key and found that for some reason spice works is not showing any key information for the existing office 2010 installations?

If I look at the information for current office 2003 + office 2007 installs it shows the key fine, just does not seem to pick it up on office 2010.

If this a known issue or do i need to make some amendments to spice works for this to work?

7 Spice ups

I can confirm that this occurs also in our Spiceworks inventory where we have a mix of KMS and MAK Office 2010 installs.

I would assume that the licensing changes to Office 2010 have prevented Spiceworks from picking up the licence keys, possibly the keys are no longer stored in the same location?

That was my thought, I would have hoped that office 2007 and office 2010 would store them in the same location (as 2010 is based on the principles of 2007), however it does look like things have been moved for some reason.

Gotta love Microsoft and its ability to fiddle with things that are working.

I am also seeing the same behavior. Previous versions of office show up with all the details but while I can see which Office 2010 products are installed, I cannot see any product keys.

This is happening to me as well with Office 2010.

Same problem for me with Office 2010

I can also confirm this. Is there anyone that knows of a fix for this? I have been deploying with a connection from each install to a licensing server, but no keys are showing up. All are genuine copies and the licensing server is being contacted. Software is showing up in the “installed” view in SW but not the License Manager plug-in on my Dashboard.

Im thinking that as long as our url is in the hosts file (had to do this for an infrastructure work around), you’ll have to run SW reports based on program name to track you installs…
