Hello all,
We just started moving new users to laptops/desktops running windows 7 and office 2010 standard but I have noticed that spiceworks is not picking up the product keys. I can enter them manually but is there a way to get this to pick up automatically like it did in xp and office 2003?
Thanks

Has a full network scan been completed since Office was updated?
I was going to post a new thread about this, but someone else did. I can confirm this. Spiceworks is picking up Office 2007 keys, but no Office 2010 keys.
Can anyone else confirm?
I guess no one else needs Office 2010 keys.
Just found this thread as was looking for solution…
Is an annoyance as I know a couple of keys have been used twice whilst several have never been used. Would be nice to be able to list these.
Anybody out there run across this problem… I still have not found a solution
I think it has something to do with how Office 2k10 stores its keys. JellyBean Keyfinder can’t find them either - is there any third party software that can to date?
My predecessor decided he didn’t want to document any of the new licenses so now I’ve got a big stack of license cards, no idea who they belong too, and a strong hatred for him.

Guess I should’ve started with Google: http://www.blogsdna.com/5748/extract-recover-microsoft-office-2010-product-key-with-produkey.htm
Funny because the app that the article links to is the original tool (ProduKey) used by Spiceworks to scan and detect product keys. Funny thing is that tool would get picked up by AV software as a virus all the time. It wasn’t infected just one of those things AV tools like to pick up. Spiceworks then upgraded to its own method to retrieve keys. I’m sure they will address this in the coming version of Spiceworks.
We are missing 2010 product key detection. I will add it straight away…
Fantastic! Thanks Francis!
Has this been fixed? I just tried scanning one of my machines and still no key showing up.
Not yet, but we are working on it. This turns out to be more complicated for 2010 than I was expecting, but we have some friends of Spiceworks that are pointing us in the right direction.

Where can we find the patch?
