One of my remote sites stopped communicating with the central server. Not sure why. All of my other remote sites work fine. So I deleted the remote site and went to re add it. When I click on “go to central server” to type in the authorization code it goes to the Central server and I get “No Remote Site Was Found”. I’m stumped! Any help would be greatly appreciated. this remote site is critical.

Thanks in advance.

Can you ping the remote from the central server? Vice Versa?

What ports are you using?

Thanks for your quick reply. Yes I can ping between the 2 servers. I’m using the default port number Central port 443.

So I looked at the settings on one of my other remote sites and noticed they were using port 80. Thought I might get lucky, I switched it from 443 to 80 and got the same result.

Bummer.

When connecting are you filling in all of the blanks?

I always use IP addresses myself and I still use the original 7695 and 7696 ports, but that is just a preference.

Is this remote collector up to date ??

Thanks for your reply… Yes i’m filling in all the blanks. And using the I.P. of the central server. My remote sites and central server are all on 7.1.00042. I haven’t updated yet since they are used heavily and I need to schedule down time after hours. But if it mean doing an emergency upgrade to get it work so be it. It’s really gonna suck though.

Here are more screen grabs. This is getting frustrating. The last one is my Central server.

When you deleted the RC from the Central server, did you also step it out of Remote Site mode, then back in?

On a side note, the version you’re running is 6 months old, and there have been ~12 releases since then. And we’re looking to drop 7.3 soon. You may want to try holding out until that rolls out and snatch that. We do generally recommend hitting the updates, as they are patches and bug fixes for the most part (with the occasional new tool).

Let me know about the RC. We should be able to get you back up and running.

See now I just want to shoot myself for not stepping it out of Remote Site mode, then back in. I thought about it, but was hesitant because I thought it would break something else. That got it working. It’s always the small things. I’ll hold off on doing the upgrade till 7.3 is released. Thanks for your help. I’m back up and running!
