We recently rolled out a Windows 8.1 64-bit machine to an office where we have a Ricoh C300SR. Setting up scan-to-folder was no problem with XP machines, but now we are having issues. We have had a Ricoh Customer Services rep connect remotely and had no joy. A tech came onsite, also no joy. They indicated that someone in Professional Services might be able to help, but they weren’t allowed to call that division?

Can someone help? I’ve got all firewalls shut down on this workstation, don’t have any third-party antivirus (like McAffee or Symantec) installed, have the correct static IP configured, can ping the Ricoh from the workstation, and can even print to the Ricoh. I CANNOT achieve a connection to the shared scan folder, nor can I browse from the Ricoh to the workstation.

First make sure the firmware is updated on the copier.

Is sharing turned on? Right click on the internet icon in the lower right. Open Network and sharing center. Change advanced sharing settings. Make sure Network discovery is checked, Turn on file and print sharing, Password protected sharing, and I have better luck with the lower encryption but the 128 work at times also.

Is the folder shared properly? Right click on the folder to be share. Share with, specific people and make sure the account to be used to login to the computer from the copier is listed and has read and write rights. If the account is not listed add it.

Login into the copier as an administrator

Fill in Name, path (computer name\folder path), computer login and password

Hope this helps
