I have installed a second instance of Spiceworks for our Maintenance Department to use (helpdesk feature only). I have a dedicated sever spun up for this. Spiceworks installed without issues. When I try to start the Spiceworks Desktop, it never seems to start up. I have cut off the local Windows firewall on the server and even specified a separate port from my first install of Spiceworks (9675 to 9676). Under the SW Desktop Preferences I ahve tried running at startup as well as a service. The Desktop Icon just seems to hang there at ‘starting up’. If I click it at all it looks like it tries again.

One thing I notice is that IIS is running on my primary/first install of Spiceworks. This was installed about 5-6 years ago and I have never had any issues. IIS wan’t installed during this second install. I do not remember if I ahve to install this manually or not.

Any help is greatly appreciated!

Thanks

Hi,

IIS is not required to run Spiceworks. Can you try rebooting the server? Is there anything else using those ports?

{"@type":"Person
jaimedelapaz
https://community.spiceworks.com/u/jaimedelapaz"}},{"@type":"Answer
