VeriSign, EnTrust, Comodo, GeoTrust, GoDaddy
who do you use and why?

GoDaddy - Simply because I have a lot of other services registered with Godaddy and I like to keep everything (as much a possible) in one place.

Up till now we’ve used VeriSign simply because we always have. With the revamp of several servers we’ll probably shop around…

At this time none. Company doesn’t want to spend the $.
Self-signed. Have had bad luck with GoDaddy and Comodo. Probably not their fault, but still didn’t work out.
Just the one with GoDaddy, 'cause they were cheap but big enough not to be totally untrustworthy.
Plus, they have Danica Patrick on their website. She’s smiling at me, too.

CACert.org for external and self-signed for internal stuff.
Why? Free
GoDaddy.com - fastest to be available & cheapest.

Nothing externally since we really have no need for SSL any longer. We used to use Verisign because they were the king o’ the heap.
CACert for internal sites (not that there is really any need, either, but still). They are used 'cause it is a free service. Of course, you either have to roll out browser acceptance of them as a CA or accept individual exceptions for being unrecognized, but that isn’t too much of an issue.
Digicert treats me pretty well for the cheap certs.
GoDaddy… cheap and supported by the most mobile devices
I recently moves us from Verisign to Godaddy. Verisign had a good system to manage your PKI infrastructure, but it comes down to cost. I’m saving over 60% with Godaddy and have had no issues. Fast and cheap!

Wow! That is a pretty significant difference in pricing.
I use StartSSL. Simple Class-1 (domain or e-mail validated) certificates are free, and unlike CACert the CA is trusted by IE, Firefox and others.
We used to use VeriSign; but have recently been switching all of ours to GoDaddy primarily because of cost. I recently had to renew a cert and VeriSign wanted $200 for 1 year vs $30 for 1 year with GoDaddy. That is a no brainer. Also, I agree with the others, very fast turn-around time.
We have used Thawte for our SSL certs and am happy with them. Relatively low cost compared to like a VeriSign and have had very good support.
First used Thawte, now GoDaddy. I’ve received good support and turnaround time, I see no reason to spend more (much more) on other services.
Used Godaddy and was able to create Exchange 2007 and 2010 certificates under 100$.

GeoTrust
They were lowest priced with a root CA on windows mobile (going back 4 years)
Stuck with them since.
Have been running a webmail front end for my mailserver for a few years without SSL and after a suspected password theft (followed by a few hundred thousand spams sent from my server!!!) I started looking into self-signed certs. I have this setup and running nicely but always wanted to get rid of the messages when logging in.
After reading this just this morning I got onto StartSSL and have done a pile of research including the discovery that Microsoft are happy to have IE recognise the Certification Authority.
So, I have just spent a couple of hours replacing my self-signed cert on WAMP + OpenSSL with a FREE StartSSL certificate and now all messages in IE, Firefox and Safari disappear - BRILLIANT.
I will be recommending StartSSL to anyone who will listen.
