Just curious if anyone out there uses Comodo for their SSL certificates. We used to use VeriSign and then for cost reasons switched to Godaddy and we very happy with them but suddenly I have been getting multiple calls per week by the company “Comodo” telling me Godaddy is raising their prices and that I should switch to them. Because over 3 reps called me out of the blue (not sure where they got my contact info from) and didn’t know the others had spoken to me I am somewhere reluctant to even consider it but would like to know what you guys think in the Spiceworks Community. Godaddy SSL renewals and rekeys are super simple. Is Comodo any better?

I used them earlier this year with no problem.

Previously we used Network Solutions and I was getting the same call. I blew them off because the cold calls are frustrating and relentless. That’s a part of the reason why I stopped shopping at CDW, PCM, etc.
Now we do use Comodo’s SSL certificate since that’s what our new web host deals. We haven’t had a problem with it and it’s cheaper than NS (everything is cheaper than NS)

Yes the cold calls are frustrating for sure. I just want to make sure if I switch it is the right decision. Cost is always a major factor for us if the services are the same or better.
Certs are certs, for the most part. We switched to an EV cert for our main website this year, and chose Comodo for price. Depending on the type of certificate, you may be able to skip the step of importing that Godaddy intermediate authority during your renewal process, but that’s pretty straightforward.
