I was hoping to get some feedback from the community on SSL providers, costs, support, etc. I currently use GeoTrust, who I do like, but as with any vendor I like to review every now and again to see if there are better options out there, along with saving my company some money.

I don’t use any right now but in the past I have used Go Daddy. I think they have good prices and good support. Haven’t purchased a cert in a year or so but I bought a WIldcard SSL for 3 years and GO Daddy was the cheapest I found.

To be honest I never really considered, GoDaddy for SSL certificates, but I’ll take a closer look at them as well.

We usually use RapidSSLOnline. Cheap and simple.

We use GoDaddy as well due to Pricing.

GoDaddy today. In the past it was RapidSSL.

For our online shops we use Verisign extended validation certificates. For other externally facing sites where we don’t want to use extended validation we use Comodo (because it’s cheaper).

DigiCert is affordable and easy to install. Support came through when I needed it.

We use GlobalSign, bought through SSL247. Never had any problems, and service is quick and excellent.

VeriSign is now acquired by Symantec.

All the guys who comment here are suggest only authority named GoDaddy, GlobalSIgn, Comodo, RapidSSL but no one recommend their reseller. I would like to recommend SSLMatrix they are authorized reseller of all the above authorities.

Resellers plays very important role on providing affordable certificate. Same brand, same certificate at big discount price

Thanks again to all and Alice I can say that I heard of SSLMatrix, but I figured it was probably not worth my time. Though it’s something I will definitely look further into and consider. Appreciate the feedback!

GoDaddy is the cheap provider. Personally and profesionally GoDaddy’s advertising is a huge put off for me and the people I work for (more importently the people I work for don’t want to support them by giving them any money.)

We just go a new cirtificate from Comodo. A salesperson got us a nice discount for the same type of SSL certificate we’ve been using. I’ll probably use their free cert for some internal projects that are comming up as well.

I’ve not heard of SSLMatrix, does someone know which company they resell certs for?

I should point out then, that SSL247 is a reseller, who can provide, just about any of the major certs at a discount.

I used to use GeoTrust which was expensive and inflexible due to their contracts. I switched to Comodo which was less expensive but support was always rude and difficult to work with. I switched to Digicert several months ago, and it was like a breath of fresh air. The online tools (ordering, re-issue, etc) are the easiest and clearest I have seen, the online support and documentation is again very clear and easy to use. The contract doesn’t expire, I can issue SAN certs for up to 4 hosts for the same as a single cert. I know I’m forgetting some things I like, and you wouldn’t think it would make all that much difference, but it definitely does. No, I don’t work for them…just a happy customer. FYI, we use the managed PKI service.
