Hey everyone!

We’re ready for our biggest SpiceWorld ever next week… are you?! Start gearing up with step #1 this week: Download the mobile app (sponsored by Windstream )! I’ve put together all the info you need to know about it here in one place:

How to download:

  • With a native app for iOS & Android or an HTML5 version for Windows Phone or Blackberry…no matter your device, we’ve got you covered! Go to this link from your mobile device: crowd.cc/swaustin15 (or search the App Store or Google Play store for “Spiceworks IT Conference”).

Once installed, it gives you access to:

  • The full event schedule
  • Detailed info about speakers & sponsors
  • Detailed maps of the venue and Austin
  • Notifications of important updates & special offers
  • Social sharing on Facebook, Twitter, and LinkedIn

Create an account for even more options:
After you download it, make sure to create an account within the app right away. Use any email address (this does NOT need to be linked to your Spiceworks Community account). Once you have an account, you’ll be able to create your own custom agenda, take notes on sessions, bookmark speakers and sponsors you want to follow up with, and even send message to fellow attendees.

Have questions?
I’m here to help! Email me at spiceworld@spiceworks.com or contact the CrowdCompass team (the makers of our awesome app!) directly @ support@crowdcompass.com | 888-889-3069, option 1.

p.s. Any updates/questions/answers about the app will be posted in this thread so everyone can chime in and easily reference it. YAY for one week away!

Well, I’ve got mine locked and (down)loaded. Apple pulled through so far!

Hey Kelly! Sorry I left that out, but you should be able to download the HTML5 version for Windows Phone. Let me know if you’re unable to or see an issue!

I actually installed this yesterday seeing someone mention a spiceworld app, and it had all the current information.

Thanks for the response @emily-p . The HTML5 versions provide a…suboptimal experience compared to the apps in general. I’m not going to go into everything here, but it is disappointing to not have some movement on an app after trying for more than a few years to get some response beyond “we don’t see enough usage to justify it”.

Thanks Em!

The app and updated content looks great, although I have not yet been able to create an account :frowning:

WOW, HTML5 version for Windows Phone…

The welcome shindig now called Sponsor Showcase is not in the app.

1 Spice up

Fixed that  Should be in the app soon!

Speaking of welcome shindig…No Bangers this year??? That was awesome last year.

We’ve outgrown most event venues around town. So, we combined the welcome shindig & sponsor showcase into one event  We’ll have heavy appetizers & drinks served throughout the 3 hr event. It won’t be quite the same as Banger’s but it’ll be an awesome event!

This is an acceptable answer

Downloaded and on the phone. take note… must attend welcome shindig

Thanks Tim! Saw that you got that fixed earlier :). Let me know if you need anything else!

Noted! Sorry it’s disappointing for sure :/. With the event growing substantially every year, we’re making strides to improve more and more every year (one being potential mobile app improvements!). Will definitely keep this in mind moving into 2016 and beyond.
