Good Morning, We recently expanded and have 2 sites connected through VPN each site has its own subnet. I was wondering what would be the best way of setting up Spiceworks inventory to scan devices in our 2nd site location. As of Right now, we have 2 W10 computers at our second site and a server 2008 R2. Spiceworks will scan the server but can’t scan the windows 10 computers.

Thanks in advance!

Here’s a thread with suggestings on getting a Windows 10 device to scan. It shouldn’t be any different settings-wise from other devices, but Windows 10 devices seem more finiky:

Thanks! Well, it works with Windows 10 devices before it goes over the VPN

Is the 2nd site going to expand with more devices? If so, then I’d put in spiceworks remote collector on the server and have it send back to your central install.

If not, then you can use agents on the 2 computers.

I would second the remote collector. I have about 20 remote locations all connected by site to site VPNs. I’ve installed a remote collector on a PC that is gets used often(It’s not a big deal if they shut it down over night, just adjust your scan times) at each location and it does the inventory scanning then sends the data to the main Spiceworks server. The remote collectors scan the entire subnet at the remote location, so everything gets picked up; router, other PCs, printers, APs, pretty much everything that your main install picks up. https://community.spiceworks.com/support/inventory/docs/remote-sites

I had a couple other projects take place. I am back to working with this one! I will try the remote agent idea because it is just 2 computers for now. Thank you all!

I use Spiceworks with almost 200 remote machines with VPN. The agent works well with them. Try to configure the agent with the IP of the central server and not with DNS.
