I have inherited a Vertical SBX IP 320 phone system. It stopped working so I unplugged it to reboot and the phones “came back” (dial tones, keypads work again) but it appears that all of the programming did not. Does anyone know if the prior programming is still in there and if there is a quick fix to get it back? Or do I need to try to start from ground zero setting up user stations and voicemails and daytime/nighttime/weekend modes?

I’m not a programmer, I’m a bookkeeper/office manager :frowning:

It sounds like you really need an IT Pro or VOIP consultant to help you out. As an accountant/office manager, you’re really not in a position to be fixing complex systems. Spiceworks is a site for IT Pro’s to help each other, and can only provide limited help to those that help with IT in small businesses.

I agree… reading the programming manuals I found online make my head hurt! Can you recommend an IT Pro or VOIP consultant? I tried calling the company that the system was originally purchased from and they no longer offer support of this system as it is “discontinued”

I’ve tagged in the indianapolis group - someone there may be able to point you in the right direction!

Vertical’s direct customer/end user support may or may not be of service, but I’d start there. At the same time, I would also try pairing up with a reseller.

If neither of those options pan out, an experienced VOIP consultant should be able to feel their way thru the (re)programming.

Where is the motherboard RAM battery on the SBX IP 320. I think it is one of those 1/2 AA lithium batteries. Is it accessed from a side panel or on the main mother board. The unit I’m working on as voicemail, VOIP and expansion cards so I can’t see much of the MB.

Thought I would confirm the answer to the above. The battery is indeed a 1/2 AA 3.6V lithium battery that is soldered to the main board of the SBX IP 320. If the one you are working on has an expansion board and a VOIP card you can’t see much of the main board. The battery in under the VOIP Board.
