Where do you guys "socialize"?

I know Spiceworks is an amazing community, but where do you guys “hang out” when you’re not in Spiceworks?

Facebook, LinkedIn, Twitter, YouTube, Instagram?.. Snapchat??
Would love your guys/gals’ thoughts on social media in general and where you spend your time on social, if at all.

Here sometimes Reddit, Twitter, Facebook for family stuff and then the other Facebook page I use to administer the city FB pages. Physically at a different craft brewery each weekend.

Twitter, Facebook, and Instagram are my main ones. I have Snapchat but none of my friends do. I also have some other sports message boards I frequent.

Online? Just Spiceworks, and a few Google hangouts made up of friends I know from the Community. The signal-to-noise ratio on the other social media platforms has just been too horrible to bother with.

Just here, and a few mountain bike and motorcycle forums.

Most “social media” like Face, Twit, Linkd, etc. don’t meet my privacy standards. I don’t like the idea of someone else making a living collecting information about me.

It surprises me how many IT pros are involved in these activities, and I do understand that they get value from that, so, not meant as a disparaging remark. It is just that the some aspects of how those organizations generate income seem somewhat counter to the things I am employed to protect people from in the first place. It is like taking part in voluntary pfishing expeditions.

I don’t do Face/Twit, and won’t unless somebody pays me enough money to do that.

I don’t much anymore. Just closed down my FB page. Don’t have a twitter and don’t have an Instagram.

In fact, I don’t even have internet at the house other than my hotspot.

If people need to talk to me or vice versa, I have a phone.

I’m in hermit mode.

SW is the big one. When I’m bored or just need to kill time, I scroll through my FB feed, but don’t do a whole ton of interacting other than sharing stuff. Occasionally I browse reddit. As far as interacting with companies though, Twitter by and large. I don’t use Twitter a whole ton anymore, but it seems it’s the most responsive way to contact a company.

Social media is the tool of the devil. Most of the content is utter dross and the simpletons are obsessed with views, hits and likes.
I socialise with real people in the Pub. Best place for it.

Spiceworks aside, I use mainly Facebook for social chats, setting up events and generally stalking my friends. I do enjoy a bit of the old Twitter though and finding out what is trending.

This is the only social network I use all the time. I have a Linked-In account but rarely visit it and a FB account that I never visit because I set it up to backup a few of the online games I play.

I spend all day at work on Spiceworks, Twitter, Facebook, LinkedIn, and Google+ (which nobody cares about), but outside of work, I spend most time on Twitter, LinkedIn and Instagram. I get my news primarily from Twitter, share personal photos on Instagram, and network professionally here and on LinkedIn. I also enjoy YouTube very much, for me and the kids. There’s a YouTube kids app now which I’m excited to check out, if you have little ones.

Oh yea, I also go outside
