XP machines updating but not scanning

We can get Windows 7 operating systems to scan and some XP machines, but right now we got about 50 xp machines that update but will not show scanned on the reports. Any help would be appreciated.

you might want to add a bit more detail. Are you saying that these XP boxes arent being scanned by SWorks / AV or what? I assume you mean SWorks but a bit more details may help you get the response you are seeking from the community.

Like @Wade0317 stated, we do not know the system that is not scanning for your machines. If you have still Windows XP machines I recommend to protect them with Anti-Virus. Since there is no more updates for Windows XP since 2014, the machines will not update unless it is the Windows Malicious Software update on the computers. Not detecting all computers during scan Spiceworks Support

When Spiceworks runs its scan and then completes, some computers/servers are not detected (Windows & Linux). Under scan errors, no errors are documented for the computers that are missing.

What version of Windows? Professional? 32-bit or 64-bit? Is Service Pack 3 installed? Like the other two have stated - more details needed please.

Sorry, They are xp pro 32 bit that has sworks agents on them. They show last time updated as todays date but the last time scanned is blank or shows a month ago. This then puts them in the group of not being scanned for 30 days. I have 7.5.00091 ver. they worked on previous version but since the update xp machines have stop scanning.

Hey Jeff,

Do they all have the same last scan time/date? Also, are the Windows 7 machines you mentioned also running the agent or scanning via the scheduled scans?

The XP machines don’t have a last time scanned, its just blank. The same XP machines do update though everyday, so we don’t understand why they are not giving a time scanned. So we are getting a daily update time, but they are not scanning.

The Windows 7 machines are working fine, they are scanning and updating like they should. They are running the same version.

Okay, it sounds like we’ll want to get a look at the agent logs to see what’s going on. Any one of the XP agent logs should work. Hold tight and I’ll shot over an email on how to get those to us.
