Hi, y’all - Chad here. It’s wrap-up time! Yes…somehow, it’s been a month. On a personal note, I’m currently in the process of packing/moving, so I actually had to check the calendar because my brain cannot be trusted.

Even though there was very little going on in the world to discuss outside of Spiceworks*, March 2023 still managed to bring the community a curious and varied list of subject matter from our brand reps. Don’t believe me? Well, first of all, what the hck? I’ve never lied to you, aside from the above lie. Second, here:

Some Top-Performing Posts by Brand Reps

These are some* posts from brand reps with the most engagement/best stats. Doesn’t matter the topic or category, this is just good-old-fashioned communication. In no particular order, here are some of their most-engaged-with posts:

Data Backup

Tamara for Carbonite threw down a swag gauntlet and asked for your top backup tips & rituals . Very few mentions of “voodoo”, which surprised me.

Contests

Over on the contests front, Ophelia (Dell) gave the community the chance to win a Nintendo Switch (and more) , which I can only secretly covet as a devout Playstation user. Lucky…

If you’re a fan of references and wizards, well, have I got a thread for you, pal! Mike (Eaton) dropped a pretty cool contest on all you North Americans for Int’l Data Center Day. And fwiw, an easy way to get me to promote your thread is to have Christopher Guest saying “These go to eleven…” in the comments. Thank you, @tb33t !

General IT Security

In a pretty gross (and new?) practice, a ransomware group posted unclothed pics of hospital patients and Javvad (KnowBe4) got a good convo started around the story.

Best Practices

Juwan for HP asks how have you improved ergonomics in your workplace. Does anyone else suddenly realize they have terrible sitting posture?

Some Helpful Votes & Best Answers

Roger (KnowBe4) Had a good answer/some helpful votes on this thread about T-Mobile’s nearly nonstop compromises last year.

BEST ANSWER ALERT!! Gopal (Vembu) Managed to provide the best answer in this post about a license audit .

More things!

An emotional goodbye from Neal (Exclaimer). Thanks for the memories, Neal!

Let’s all welcome Stefan (Pulseway) to the community, as he dives into the suddenly hilarious AND terrifying world of A.I .

In another post that I’m just going to “leave here forever” because it’s full of great info, Jack (Intel) manages to get some great tips for giving end users password advice . Remember, we’re all somebody’s end users these days. What is the best password advice that you can give to your end users?

:pie:Face Pi! Justin for Eaton provided us with some pie-fect Pi Day content. Everything about this is great , Mike (Eaton) . Big thanks to the folks at Eaton! And, can’t forget this one, too , David (Eaton)

Tiffany (for HPE) brought us one of the cooler projects I’ve seen in a while , combining the use of hybrid technology with one man’s love of a weird, German van.

Top How-To Guides

In addition to his Best Answer, Gopal (Vembu) also gave us a handy AWS how-to about EC2 placement groups.

And here’s another great how-to from Adom (Aryson Technologies) , for all you Outlook users!

Let us know anything that we missed in the comments! Have you seen any awesome contributions from Brand Reps recently?

Always great questions for the community from @jack-intel ! His post had some great advice (and cautionary tales) on password management (and one from me that’s more of an emotional reminder of sorts lol)- Great to see you here, Jack! :)
