We are a small radio station that, at the beginning of the pandemic, started locking our doors (used to be free for all with anyone that wanted to walk in could).
We have cams at both the front and back doors but no way to actually talk to the visitor.
An old Viking system is there that rang the receptionist desk as well as in the studios but it is unreliable since this place went to VoIP years ago and are relying on an analog to digital converter.
Anyway, what we are looking for is

  1. Video doorbells that can be interacted with. There are tons of them on the market but:
  2. chimes for both the upstairs and downstairs office area. Loud ones. But:
  3. Silent flashing or just indicator lights for in the studios (can’t have ringing when on the air) for our over the night DJs to know if someone rings the doorbell.
I have a setup in mind with Ring, an echo show and some crazy Alexa app programming to have a wifi lightbulb go on and blink when the doorbell is pressed.
But there has to be a better way out than all that, yeah?
For cheap. We are are a non-profit community station so budget is an unknown word around here. lol
    Thanks for any ideas!!

Could you use an App on a tablet of some kind? that might be easiest to get a simple notification via the Unifi app of a doorbell press.

Requires

this could work maybe. Does 1 and 2 out of the box. You could do 3 several possible ways, such as

or HomeKit or Apple Home plus Scripted or Google Home.

Probably better dedicated units for this but nothing comes to mind for me.

Thanks! I forgot I was going to look at Ubiquiti to see what they had.

Radio stations and TV here to. We have an older keyfob system but will be replacing it all with UBNT next year. They have some super net stuff.
We have been using their over the air telemetry equipment for years and years now with minimal issues. Except for the old lightning strikes on our towers now and then.
