I just feel like gloating a little bit. I’ve spent. almost a year working at this High School, most of which I’ve spent setting up a SpiceWorks server amongst other things. And today the principal just gave me the OK to use the portal for our Maitenance Request system, replacing an old foxpro db, and he’s impressed with the rest of the system and might give me a bigger and better server to move it to.

This is especially hot sh*t news for me since I’m only part-time here and this gives me good cred for getting a full time position when I graduate at the end of the year. Also, this is my old high school where I graduated from their Academy of Information Technology, and It’s awesome being able to show my old principal that the trenchcoat wearing troublemaker from their first class is now making his school run more efficiently.

That’s all. Just had to get it off my chest.

Right on!!! Way to go aTeX and Spiceworks, too! You remind me of an intern I had a few years ago. He was in an IT program at his high school and it was wonderful to work with him. Since then, he’s continued through college, working on a paid internship at Intel and is just finishing up another at Boeing. You young guys help keep us old fogies stoked up!!!
