I have nothing to do here, and I cannot answer most peoples questions here as I don’t use specific products and I don’t have anything to say.

Questions have to be asked, “why did you join” and “Don’t you have any questions or issues to ask us?”

Whether you can answer any questions or not, there is a lot you can learn here.
Just because you’re not familiar with a specific product, doesn’t mean you can’t be helpful. There are basic troubleshooting techniques and some step by step troubleshooting steps that can apply to many different areas that sometimes people either forget or are too preoccupied with their specific problem to remember there are some basic logical steps they can perform to help narrow down or rule out possible causes to many issues.
On the other hand, there are a lot of Topics that neglect to include basic and relevant system/network/software information that is really necessary to be able to properly and accurately answer the question asked. A helpful reminder is occasionally required to inform them that we’re IT Professionals and not mind readers, even though we sometimes seem to be both at times.
Keep your chin up. Keep learning. Ask questions. Contribute when you can.
Keep it SPICY, my friend!
Edit: Oh yah, just found this - Ever get the feeling you are unable to answer a single question in Spiceworks?

Contributions to the community don’t just come from answering questions, they also come from asking questions.
It is not really stated but the community here at Spiceworks is one built on the prime of “There is no stupid question”. We might mention that a question has been asked before and we might recommend searching first, but we will never scold you for asking. We will simple say:
“Aww, yes, this again. Here are other topics pertaining to your question and here are some cliff notes to get you started.”
So ask away, search away (add “Spiceworks” to google searches, it works well) , join groups, follow members, and Share knowledge.
If you are bored it is simply from not trying.

Hi Chris,
I’m sorry to see that. I took a look at your profile to see what you specialize in. At one section you state you work in networking and that you’re a system administrator. On the other hand, you say you work at your brother’s software company testing mobile apps for Apple iOS, Android, and Blackberry. Are you both a system administrator and working in app development or is it one or another?
If you’re only in app development and the system administrator part was a mistake, check out these groups. You might be able to answer some questions there.

A group that I find easy to answer questions in is Adobe

If you haven’t been in the IT industry for long, you will probably have a hard time answering most complex questions here. You can use that to your advantage to learn or you can remain limited in your field. That decision is up to you!
Of course, there’s always the Gaming, Cooking with Spice, Sports and Outdoors, SoapBox, and Water Cooler which is just about for anybody!

Alright I lied, I don’t have a company I made it up to be part of this community and still like it. I’m sorry I’m telling the truth now.
I’m confused, are you and IT person or not?
If you are not then why are you on a community for IT Pros? Do you want to start working in IT?
Lying doesn’t help out anyone. Be honest and maybe we can help you achieve your goals.
Well then… WELCOME TO THUNDERDOME!

This place isn’t a Reddit alternative for you. Are you in an IT job role?

I too am confused, no we generally do not like to have novice in the community there as have been exceptions. Over the years there have been several high school age members whose knowledge and understand surpassed many of our own, they were great additions. give us some info, why are you here? I am sure I have seen you in a few discussions and it seems like you generally contributed well…you are certainly not on my avoid list…yes I have one…

Pretty sick to play out a lie like that Apple TV won't appear on airplay list
That’s not cool. Are you wanting to be in the IT field? Searching for acceptance? What is it that you want from this?
Sorry, this reminds me of a Family Guy clip…

Im a guy who is at home most his time, and has learned many things about computers through the years im the system administrator of a small office at home. my brother has a software company but lately I have not been beta testing as there’s no work for me. I do not have certifications or have ever worked for a business, I spend most of my time using Adobe Premiere to make music videos or voice dubbings.

I don’t have certs, don;t need em
many here have no formal education in the industry but were thrown into a role.
You seem to fall between this. Do you have a true interest in the industry or are you a hobbyist?
That’s a good start. Are you willing to continue learning and work in the IT industry? I learned on my own through my teenage years while still in school. I don’t have certifications either. I started doing my own side gigs, ended up landing an internship, and that’s how I got to where I am today. Hands on learning was essential to my growth in IT. I’ve learned a ton through Spiceworks as well. I’m sure you’ve learned a few things already, it’s not like you joined yesterday!
What do you have setup at your home office?
So there you go, Adobe is another group you can follow. Do you make lyric videos? Those are pretty popular right now.
