Well that did not last long, my boss called and I had to handle an issue. I only got to waste about 10 minutes of his time.

Make sure you give them your social security number, DOB, mother’s maiden name, and add them as an authorized user on all cards and bank accounts.

BWAHAHAHA!!! Those are so much fun! A customer of mine got one while I was there, and I had them watch what happens, and then I talked them through it all. Finally go them to purchase a real firewall shortly after! LOL!!!

Did you ask them to enter all their personal information on a web form required for any support calls?

Lucky! The only call I’ve gotten like that was while I was driving, could only bluff my way through so much. I did enjoy making them repeat their steps multiple times to open the task manager and event viewer to see all the ‘viruses and malware’ I had.

Yah they said the red ones were viruses and the yellow ones were malware

Had one on the weekend. Asked him if his parents were proud of him being a thief. Kept insisting that he was legit and that I had issues with my computer. I kept telling him I knew it was a scam. Then he asked if I was an “astrologer” since I could apparently “know” things. So I told him yes. Next thing I know we’re having an argument as to who was the bigger scam artist - “MS Techs” or “Astrologers”! Since he hung up on me, I think I won.

It’s amazing that they can see a problem before I know that it exists and call me ahead of failure to prevent it. It’s also cool they take credit cards

What amazes me is that they can see my Windows machine has problems when I only run Linux in my house!

Make sure you ask them to fix your CCleaner too!
