I downloaded Spiceworks in order to simply have an inventory of the assets in our closet not currently rolled out (PCs, laptops, surfaces, printers, cell phones, etc). Is this a supported feature of Spiceworks? The folks who pointed me to SW said yes, but I can’t see where that feature is.

I know that it’s capable of network scanning, but the devices and items that I want to keep track of aren’t on the network, they’re sitting in a storage closet.

They did mislead you slightly.

Spiceworks is designed to inventory on the network devices, while you can add devices manually it isn’t really ideal for stock control in the way in which I think you’d want to use it.

{"@type":"Person
[{"@type":"Answer

That’s what I figured, but I wanted to double check before writing it off for our purposes. Try it for your purpose, but I think if it’s stock control you might not find it easy/useful, but it’s free and no harm in trying it.

It is a feature people have asked for

{"@type":"Person
Rod-IT
https://community.spiceworks.com/u/Rod-IT"}}]}}
