Motorcycle theft remains a major concern for vehicle owners, but advances in electric mobility technology are providing new ways to improve security. ALVA has introduced an intelligent protection system that combines real-time tracking, remote vehicle control, and 24-hour customer support to help safeguard its electric motorcycles.
The technology was showcased during the Jakarta Fair 2026 (PRJ 2026), where ALVA invited customers to share their real-world experiences with the company’s digital security features. The discussion highlighted how integrated technology and responsive after-sales service can work together to recover stolen vehicles.
Customer Story Demonstrates Anti-Theft Effectiveness
One of the speakers, Abay, an owner of the ALVA CERVO Q, recounted his experience after losing both his motorcycle and smartphone. Despite the difficult situation, his motorcycle was eventually recovered thanks to ALVA’s emergency support team.
Because the company operates a 24-hour customer assistance service, the support team was able to locate the motorcycle using its built-in tracking system and coordinate the recovery process even when the owner no longer had access to his mobile device.
GPS Tracking and Remote Engine Shutdown
ALVA electric motorcycles are equipped with a satellite-based location tracking system that connects directly to the My ALVA Mobile App. The application allows owners to monitor their vehicle’s location in real time from virtually anywhere.
Another key feature is the Anti-Theft function, which enables users to remotely disable the motorcycle’s power system if it is stolen. Once activated, the system cuts power to the main drive unit, preventing the motorcycle from continuing its journey and making it extremely difficult for thieves to restart the vehicle.
This gives owners valuable time to notify local law enforcement while reducing the likelihood of the motorcycle being taken far from its original location.
Emergency Support Beyond the Mobile App
During his presentation, Abay explained that he was unable to access his smartphone after the theft. Even so, ALVA’s customer support team quickly responded by monitoring the motorcycle through its central system and remotely activating the Anti-Theft feature.
The incident demonstrated that advanced technology alone is not enough. Reliable customer support plays an equally important role in ensuring users receive immediate assistance during emergencies. The combination of intelligent software and dedicated personnel helped minimize potential financial losses.
According to Redya Febriyanto, Head of Digital Product, Engineering and Information Technology at ALVA, the Anti-Theft system was designed to give customers greater peace of mind. Additional security is becoming increasingly important as electric motorcycles are used for daily commuting and parked in public spaces.
Strengthening Indonesia’s Electric Vehicle Ecosystem
The adoption of electric motorcycles in Indonesia continues to grow steadily. Reflecting this trend, ALVA reported a 52.9 percent increase in sales during 2025, signaling stronger consumer confidence in electric mobility.
To support its expanding customer base, the company has also continued to invest in charging infrastructure. ALVA currently operates 355 charging connectors across 170 strategic locations throughout Indonesia, making charging more accessible for riders.
Beyond charging facilities, the company provides nationwide roadside assistance and integrated after-sales services to ensure customers receive support whenever they need it, including during long-distance travel.
Building an Integrated Ownership Experience
ALVA aims to deliver more than just electric motorcycles by creating a connected ownership ecosystem. From vehicle engineering and digital services to customer support, every aspect is designed to work together to improve convenience and reliability.
Backed by PT Indika Energy Tbk, the company continues to focus on environmentally friendly mobility solutions while differentiating its products through digital innovation and comprehensive customer services.
Future Challenges for Smart Mobility
As urban transportation needs continue to evolve, consumers increasingly expect vehicles to offer advanced security features alongside performance and efficiency. Intelligent digital technologies are becoming an essential part of modern vehicle ownership.
The successful recovery of Abay’s motorcycle illustrates how connected security systems can help reduce theft risks and strengthen consumer confidence in electric vehicles.
Remote immobilization technology also has the potential to discourage criminals from targeting connected motorcycles, as the likelihood of escaping with the vehicle becomes significantly lower.
Going forward, continued public education will be essential to increase awareness of smart vehicle security features and accelerate the adoption of electric mobility. At the same time, manufacturers must maintain reliable server infrastructure, perform regular software maintenance, and continuously release security updates to ensure these systems remain dependable during emergencies.
As digital vehicle protection becomes more advanced, experiences like this could encourage wider adoption of intelligent security technologies across the automotive industry, ultimately raising safety standards and delivering greater peace of mind for consumers.
